The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is an organization committed to strengthening regional cooperation among its Member States. It holds a Centre for Disaster Management and Preparedness targeting the development of mechanisms for collective emergency response.
Through the organization, the participating Member States are work towards strengthening regional cooperation regarding the preservation, protection and management of the environment. Additionally, the organisations has established regional centers constituting important frameworks of SAARC institutions, addressing the diverse aspects of environment, climate change and natural disasters.
