This factsheet describes the emergency response services of the UNEP/OCHA Joint Environment Unit (JEU) following assistance requests by Member States.

The UNEP/OCHA Joint Environment Unit can mobilize environmental experts, equipment, provide remote support and conduct rapid environmental assessments (REA) for affected countries. The experts can be deployed through a United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) team or on a standalone environmental emergency mission.
